Original Steering Column for '63 Valiant - Question
The turn signal you have is an aftermarket setup. The original turn signal lever comes out of the column, where the rectangular slot is. Probably the factory turn signal stuff is missing or broken.
63-66 all used pretty much the same column, albeit with different turn signal wiring plug that comes out of the middle of the column, under the dash. Column shifters will of course have a shift lever coming out of the passenger side of the column, pushbutton and floor shifts won't. Also, power steering shafts are shorter than manual steering shafts. In all cases, the main jacket is gonna be the same - or at least interchangeable with other years. I've run a 63 Valiant column in my 65 Barracuda, and a 65 Barracuda column in my 63 Valiant. (They are back to their correct columns now.)
Here's a somewhat blurry picture of my 65 Barracuda; you should be able to see the chrome turn signal lever coming out of the left side of the column.
