First V8 I did, I was justa kid, 16 maybe 17. Saved all the hardware very carefully. Re-assemble bottom end, heads, intake, oil pump, oil pan, into the Ranchero it goes. when I get to near the bottom of the coffee can I find this hexagonal shaft with a little circlip on it :wtf: "Oh crap! That's the oil pump drive from the distributor!" I get this bright idea
View attachment 1716255490 I'll just take the circlip off and drop it into the pump from above :D . Get hold of it with the needle nose, flashlight to light the way, all lined up, TINK! as it bounces off the bottom of the oil pan :BangHead:
