The topless adventures of Cuda Al

The engine is out, I had a friend over that has actually pulled a 6 out and understood its quirks.
For the most part it happened quick so no pictures of the pull.
The only issue started when I couldn't find my chain lift sling as I use a carb plate on the v-8s. So I ran down to the parts store and purchased another one, back in business.
We get the hoist hooked up and start the lift (with the transmission attached), we were at the point where we were going to start to move forward to get some more clearance and the engine drops back in.
At first we thought we broke the stud at the rear of the engine we were hooked up to but in looking at the sling we noticed the links on the end holding the brackets were not welded and it just opened up till it broke.

Although my paint guy said a few days it turned into a couple weeks.
