From my research they came on the later 88 and up v8s the k frame part was changed in 88 to accommodate the v6 the v8s had that extension plate to move the motor mount forward. I'm honestly not sure if it was on all of them or just certain ones. I'm assuming all v8s had them if the frame was the "new" design. The bracket should work for any small block. It is a factory piece.
