sloppy shifter

I have been running various A833s almost continuously since 1970. In the beginning, with the factory Hurst shifter, but one of the first upgrades I did was a Mr. Gasket shifter, which I still use today, Daymn thing is over 50 years old, and is still in as received condition.

What I have noticed is that the levers that bolt to the trans and the flats on the studs that they fit it on, is where the wear accumulates and then the neutral-gate starts wandering around, and it's like I had to adjust and tighten them every week.
Finally I figured it out, and fixed it for good.
The slop at the shifter end doesn't seem to be a problem. Or should I say, has never been a problem for me.
If this is your problem, lemmee know and I'll tell you what I did. The last missed-shift I had was in 2004, which is also the last time I adjusted it.
