If that foam fits fairly tight, it should have nowhere to go. And if it moves back, the carbs/air cleaners should stop it. I did that same thing when I moved the avatar Demon from Detroit to Florida with a big piece of foam off Amazon stuffed into the 6-pack scoop. And of course, we had to drive through a monsoon that day but the top of the engine seemed to stay dry. Your scoop is likely taller and I'm sure you'll know what is best - just sharing my experience as I also wanted to keep bugs and any road debris out!
