Hello all!
I have a newly acquired 67 Barracuda in need of a lot of help but solid. It has no fender tag and practically gutted. Came with a bad 273/rebuilt 904 believe to be original to car. Debadged and filled holes. I suspect it was going to be a race car but someone started buying parts for to put it back together. It came with a lot of parts but not everything needed. Some used some new parts with buyers names attached.

Open to suggested reading material. I’ve bought many books in the past that just didn’t contain the info I needed. I want to put it back on the road and drive it.

Welcome aboard from another 67 fish owner! Read thru what's posted on here(LOTS).
Ask away with questions, enjoy! :canada:

Suggestion...keep it small block for now. The engine looks era correct for 67(cast-iron water pump). Got a pic of rockers? They should be adjustable.
Judging by looks of engine, maybe look for a new one?
Double and triple chk ALL wiring. It's pushing 60 years old and could have been hacked multiple times.
Good luck!

Thanks for the Welcome.
Attached is a pic of the rockers…

I already ran up to Missouri and picked up a running 383 w/727 trans. Both are from a 67 Dodge Coronet. I plan to rebuild the 273, I know 3 cylinders have no compression.

Wiring was all stripped out and boxed up. Plan on a Painless rewire for safety and longevity sake.

Yep adjustable and worth $$.
Schumacher (I think) is making the sb to bb conversion mounts. Have fun!
Thanks for the Welcome.

Any advice where I can find what is needed for the conversion? I know nothing about Mopar but a ton about GM (77 BB Stepside) and Honda (95 Civic auto to 4spd and D to B conversion)

Chk Schumacher out, they were making them, then stopped, then started up again lol.
Grab as much oem stuff as you can with the 383/727. Pulleys, pwr steering pump, brackets etc. A lot of this stuff when converting can be a nightmare. We have vendors/sponsors on here as well that offer us gearheads discounts if u let them know yer on FABO. I'll look for Shumacher link

Welcome! I have a '67 383 fastback. Ill try to answer questions when you got them.

Mine came in boxes, so i have had to make up a few things on the way.

@4spdragtop is correct on this one. Grab EVERYTHING from the donor vehicle if at all possible. If it connects to the engine, take it with you. Hoses, wiring, kickdown, cables, etc. You'll probably want to get the radiator too.

Luckily, the 67-69 Barracuda came from the factory with a 383, so you are not re-inventing the wheel here. You can go here to download a couple of 67 Plymouth factory service manuals:

Service Manuals – MyMopar

I prefer a printed manual if it's available. I've used these guys for a number of FSM's and have been very happy with them. Here are their products for your car:

Search

There are plenty of resources available to you via the search engine, and many members who have done this. Good luck!

I will add that the 67 manual listed above does not have factory schematics etc. There was a supplement put out by Plymouth after the fact. I have a nice clean digital copy if you want to send me your email.

I didn’t get to see the donor car. Told it was scrapped due to title issues.

MyMopar.com has a lot of good info but the details I need aren’t covered.
Like throttle cable bracket, water pump pulleys, alternator brackets etc.
I got the attached alt bracket but haven’t found how it works or is mounted. I got the general idea but not exactly.

The 383 has a TM6 intake w/750 Holley vac sec but included the original intake and 2bl carb. Also a couple brackets, bolts, alternator, coil and distributor.

Where abouts in Texas? I'm in Seguin, TX and will be stumbling along as I do my 383/727/8.750 conversion from a 318/904/8.25 in my '75 Duster.
