Wasn’t someone looking for a W2 intake.
Thanks. He does the videos from his Driod phone. I do have the W2 porting templates. He did the work first. We talked about it and it basically went like this.
Charlie (C) You have a set of W2’s? I’ve never seen a set up close. Are you porting them? Who’s doing the work? I’d love to take a crack at them.
Me; You really want a shot at porting them?
C - Yea I would!
Me - OK, here ya go!
LMAO!
We talked about it for a bit and what I’m doing with displacement and cam. He nodded his head and away we went.
Now since he told me he has not idea what these are capable of and where the metal is at or not, he wouldn’t go nuts and I said no need to. He looked the heads over and loved what he was looking at.
It was about the same thing with the tunnel ram.
He got done with what he thought would produce something nice. Calibrated his bench in which I got a short lesson on, not that I remember…. But he showed me a few plates and ran over it a few times. He hoisted the head up and started the machine back up and found what the video shows.
His porting was indeed close to the templates. The backside and slightly to the side his work was a little deeper. The short side IIRC was about dead on.
Eventually, the heads went, IIRC, 323 cfm.
The “Econo” heads I have, he asked if he wanted me to port them and I declined saying I’d like to give it a try. I’ll start with a set of 1.88 J heads and see how I feel about the Econo W2’s.
