Fan not centered with center of radiator

Ok don't laugh too hard but I got my fan and radiator installed and the fan is not centered with the center of the radiator, is this correct. I did some measuring and the edge of fan blade is about 3 in from the outer edge of the radiator on the driver's side and about 1 3/4 on the passenger side. I currently do not a shroud but the pictures of a v8 shroud show ds wider than ps.
Sorry for all the dumb questions lately but it been almost 40 yrs since I worked on any mopars

Don't know what you have, but early A's (64) have different radiator supports for /6 and 8 cars. The 6 supports are offset to the drivers side. The sheet medal on the passenger side of the support can be cut from an 8 car and grafted into the 6 car to center the opening to use the V8 radiator. Next time you have your car slap apart.
