Did the last 2 days in the 69. The 6.4 / 904 ran flawlessly for just under a 500 mile round trip. I didn't really meet any of the guys from here tho.. Just never encountered them. BUT I did meet alot if great people.. Took my daughters (fiance?). This kid had a great time.. I think I helped him pick a new hobby.
Thursday night, we were chillin in our our Hotel in Hebron and kinda bored. I said "come on bud, let's go look and some **** and see if anybody is hanging out on the other side" Our side was dead. There were alot more cars over there.. And one group trying to get a 66 Ford wagon back together.. Rad leak. Walked to see if they needed anything and I was able to offer some things they needed and plenty of light.. I was well prepared. Anyway, I asked when the burn out party starts and they said "were waiting for you to start it". We'll, that was all I needed to hear. I have no problem starting ****. I kicked it off, a few followed and then Mr police man showed up. Party over... Went back to helping the wagon guy... He got back on the road the next morning with a jeep radiator. Then everybody rolled out for Indy.
One friend that I made was a guy named Brian Goad. He followed us from Martinsville the whole trip in a beautiful white 68 Chevelle. Friday morning, as we were coming through Columbus, a light turned yellow, just as I passed under it and I knew he'd catch the red.. So I stayed slowing down to wait. Then I hear his brakes lock up. Yep, he didn't see the red and just got clipped. Sucked but it happens. Sure could've been alot worse. We took 40 the entire way to Indy.. What a nice drive. Didn't see alot of other cars but I think we were pretty far behind considering the late start and then the nose clip. Already thinking about next year great times.
