What is the best choice all around Carter 4-barrel carb for a stock 66 273 with stock exhaust manifolds and an Edelbrock LD4B intake manifold?

I would focus on a Performer 500 or AVS2 500, either with electric choke. The choke can be adjusted to barely come on or backed right of. Even on a Commando it will give snappy performance.
On a Commando engine, the AVS2 650 will provide more power.
All around performance on a stock 273, chose the AVS2 500. The overall performance and fuel economy will be better than a larger carb.
