White Leather or Vinyl Issue & Sought-after Suggestions
Hi All -
My '68 Bcuda Convert Restomod build continues and now we are onto the interior. It's still a pusher and the stance is not yet been set in the picture.
Really wanted white seating with charcoal or dark grey carpet, but appears leathers and vinyls are not what they once were. Tested several samples at Bright Upholstery in Portland last week by rubbing their samples against my medium-dark 5+ year old jeans in an attempt to test how indigo dye would rub off, which it did. Their shop solvents were unable to remove the stains.
So question my question, does anyone know of a great white leather or vinyl that does not retain denim indigo rubbing off on it. I recall my father's white-on-white '78 Cadillac Coupe deville. It was the family car at that point and that white leather never stained or degraded. I'm told that due to EPA-type regulations that there simply isn't that quality of leather available any longer, but hoping someone out there knows a great OEM source of white leather to save our vision. Tried every light grey as plan B, but they all skew to taupe, blue or brown, which isn't gonna work for our taste (e.g. we are aiming for a true grey).
