The thrill is gone?

Put me down as another older guy who's passion is waning. I still get up every morning and read the threads here but can't bring myself to work on my car every day. I'm in the middle of a project that should have taken two months, but it is now coming up on six. I want to get it done and drive the car before it starts getting too hot out to enjoy. I had a minor set back and had to walk away from it for a month, but thanks to friends and family, I'm getting back on it today.

I don't have any youngsters to pass my knowledge onto, but I do have an older friend who likes to "help" and I do find it fun to educate him on how the various systems work, and why we are doing something a certain way. The best feeling is getting something accomplished and then sitting back and celebrating with a couple of beers and some good tunes.

Also, as others have noted, my priorities have changed as I get older. I spend WAY more time now on prayer and trying to live a more Christian life. I have my car friends and my church friends. Some of them are in the same group. These are the guys I tend to spend the most time with. Here we are working on a buddy's dream Camaro. It's fun installing expensive parts that someone else paid for!
