318 question?

Pretty sure the Poly 318 cam is different to the 67 & later 318. Different lifter bore angle. Isky lists different part numbers for the two engine series.
Yes, the cam is different because of the different port layout, but the lifter angle remains the same 59* between the A and LA- this is the biggest reason the valvetrain geometry is so screwed up on LAs, and why DC/MP/Ritter etc. released the revised 48* lifter blocks.
@cawest, if you've already got pistons in it (didn't see any in the pics, thought you just had the block) you need to figure out what they are- poly pistons are not compatible with LA heads because of the different valve order, layout and angles used with the poly heads- the valve reliefs are totally different. You will need LA pistons to go with LA heads.

Flattops with no valve reliefs are also LA pistons.
