Does the tool require a slide hammer? I’ve had this one for a long while and always just tapped it from the valley (down) and unscrewed it to take it apart.
Luckily I’ve never met much resistance, and never had a lifter/cam failure. The last two engines I didn’t use it because I now like bushes bores and hyd. rollers.
