1966 Barracuda Formula S on Bring A Trailer NOT MINE

Near as I've been able to determine, they only made the '66 Barracudas at Hamtramck (2) and Los Angeles (5). I have both, but, the one I referred to is a Hamtramck car 500499. A very strange car as it was originally shipped to International Motors in Honolulu Hawaii. It has all the Formula S options, but, not a FS! It has an 8 3/4 and disc brakes too. It's as if they ordered everything separately instead of checking the package box. Also has buckets, console, 4 speed, and a rare heater delete. The only thing I can think of as to why it went all the way from Hamtramck to Hawaii instead of from LA is that the LA plant must not have been swapped over to the new model yet and wasn't ready to ship all the new show room models. I suspect Chrysler wanted all the new models to be in all the show rooms around the same time, so. to get one going on it's long journey, off this early production car went to HI. It has the buffed silver paint with a red interior, which is also a good indication it was a show room car.
