Pre 551 inspection

551 inspection is required to get a bonded title and is done at the Highway patrol. Something you need to do if you purchase a car that doesn't have a title.

My inspector immediately called out a problem with the VIN, saying the rivets had been drilled out. I had to educate him on 62-65 mopars and how VIN numbers were attached. Fortunately I had plenty of examples on my phone, and some documentation from the internet, and eventually got them to sign off on the car. Now I send everything to the DMV in Jeff City to get the title. What a hassle.
