Engine Mounts for '68 Engine on '73 Kmember

My '68 340 (casting date June, 1967) used the old biscuit type mounts. I ditched those when I went to a '73 Kmember; new K has the through-bolt perches. So now I have to use the later style mounts. There is an obvious left and right side mount, but they are dimensionally identical.

The problem I have is that the mounting ears on the block are not the same on the left and right sides. The left (driver) side ears are much more narrow than on the right (passenger) side. The mounts are dimensioned to fit the wider spread on the right side of the block.

I can make the right side work. But the left side leaves a gap that I will have to fill with a spacer of some sort; I think a little bit longer bolt and a nut between the block ear and the mount and another nut on the outside of the mount will hold it.

I'm curious if anyone else has run into this with mixing the early 340 with the '73-up K? I don't know if this is just with the early 340 (as mine has to be one of the earliest with a 6/67 casting date) or if all of the 340s had the same issue with different openings between the mounting ears.
