What the heck am I doing wrong with this '74 Valiant hood?

I'm looking at your bolts in the slots, move the hood the opposite way to move the hood forward away from the cowl.

Your bolts should be on the extreme ends of the other side of the slots to move it away from the cowl.

I appreciate the input, unfortunately, there's no where I can line up within the slot that will allow the hood to come down without hitting the cowl. I tried both extreme ends of the slots and in-between. It's looking like new hood hinges are in my future.
