A833 shifting problem

Engine off, can you run the shift pattern including reverse with no issues?
Engine running, is it making noise in neutral when cold or when hot?
Check all the mounts and peddle linkage components. Loose or broke they may add to excessive pedal motion.
Verify pressure plate departure.
