Engine off, can you run the shift pattern including reverse with no issues?
Engine running, is it making noise in neutral when cold or when hot?
Check all the mounts and peddle linkage components. Loose or broke they may add to excessive pedal motion.
Verify pressure plate departure.
Yes it goes through all gears with the engine off. I have it on the hoist right now checking the linkages and the throwout bearing. So hot out right now I have to keep slipping inside to ac.
