Question, is there is right or wrong way to take up the slop in a manual steering box? Loosen jamb nut, turn the screw, I assume. Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 turn at a time?

The little I know and I could be wrong but was taught to take the wheels off the ground and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth a little and tighten the box up until you feel some drag on the steering wheel and back the adjuster off a 1/4 turn.
