1972 Dodge Colt
Got to the track last night for T&T.
First run was my best ever ET and right at my 87 MPH which seems to be the new norm.
8.241 which looks like a 12.9 converted to 1/4 mile numbers.
60 foot is still soft, I need to chop at least a half out of that.
So that is my first 12 second run with a slant six.
Only took me 50 years of messing with slants off and on to get that done.
Goal has always been an 11, something.
Good to have a goal that is out that far, gives me something to sweat about in the shop.
Second run was a bog big time.
I don't have the pedal stop on the clutch pedal so I think I hit the tamer at a different spot and.....
I launched at 4500 last night on both runs, first was fine, second, bad.
I pulled the plugs after the first run, 1,3,4,6 were the slightest bit lean, 2 + 5 were sooty.
The AFR gage was a complete waste.
Pegged lean below 2K and then under power it's 12 to 15 and moves all the time.
Real hard to see the value of that "tool" right now.
Ran two cars in the test and ran them both down, that felt cool to overtake some slower cars!
I should be working on reaction times, but I have been staging and then bringing up the RPM.
I need to see what putting a 2 step in would take.
Can't do it with my 6AL as far I can tell.
Here is what it looked like when I showed up.
I was hoping no one else would show, WRONG!
You would think 96 and the cowboys playing would have kept them home!
Plugs 1 is right.
