Here in the Texas Hill Country, I have seen antler collections like that. All date back prior to screw worm eradication, all the large ranches getting cut up and subdivided, and now, live oak decline wiping out the live oak acorn crop.
Eradicating screw worms has been great for livestock and pets. However, screw worms greatly reduced the deer population… fewer deer competing for the high protein food. Now there are lots of deer, but a “big” one is about 100 lbs.
The other factors reduced the habitat to marginal quality.
If you are lucky enough to live by a dairy that raises most of its feed, or large maize fields, you can still find large white tails.
