If someone poo poos your engine bay paint down the line (and they will), don’t even respond to that aspect of their comment.
If they have a comment of value, only respond to that. Ignore comments without value as much as it hurts to not address others assholery.
I have deleted more of my comments before posting them than I have posted.
It’s just not worth engaging.
