The topless adventures of Cuda Al

Max had upgraded the power steering to a Borgeson gear and Saginaw pump. I had to get a different bracket kit and make some adjustments to the hoses. Still not sure I can get it in the car like this.

Closed up the day getting the flexplate/converter bolts in, dust shield on, starter installed, eng/trans braces and transmission cooler line, all stuff easier to do while you have easy access. I tried to get the kickdown linkage installed but the lever on the transmission needed be different. Also installed were the exhaust manifolds and lower pully.

The next day started off swapping out the speedometer pinion.

Been there done that, this isn't the first time installing an engine this way.

One thing that was different was the the upper control arm and spindle were still on the car. I just mover the car back further in the garage so I could lift it higher. I then put a shipping blanket over the engine and walking the assembly over the engine.

Made it in ok, next obstacle was the brake proportional valve another change added by Max.

Other than having to shift in all directions to maneuver around other clearance issues, it went smooth.

Once I had the k-member bolted in the front was jacked up and put on jack stands. I then got the transmission crossmember bolted up. From there I bolted the lower ball joints and got the torsion bars back in. Ran the adjustment bolts in and put the wheels back on.
