Does anyone know what year the 8 1\4 carriers changed bearing size?

Trucks use Chrysler 10 Bolt with larger Carrier bearing, they called it 8.375 or 8 3/8 diff. Used the same R&P just different carrier bearings.

So all a and f bodies used same bearings thanks

From the 1975 Chrysler Technical Service Bulletin:

1976 passenger cars equipped with 8 1/4 axle and light duty trucks with 8 3/8 axle:
Two sizes of differential bearings will be used in early 1976 production models. The new and larger bearing will be used in axle housings that will be identified with a letter L about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size cast in the axle housing

With two generations of axles existing on 1976 model vehicles, care must be taken in service to use appropriate bearing.
Under no circumstance will it be permissible to interchange bearings.
It is not permissible to mix bearing components, even though the bearing cone ID's are the same --- The ramp angle of the rollers are different.

One side note, some very late 1975 models could have the larger bearing, check for letter L found in the top center of the axle housing.
