A-body SBP 8 3/4 brake backing plates

drum brakes are different than disc brake cars. 2 1/2 shoes vs 1 3/4 shoes

Wasn't aware that there were different size shoes on the 8 3/4 depending on front disc or front drums ?? Am I reading that correctly ???
