Placement of big round felt pad on crank behind timing cover

I'm curious about MoparLeo where he says:

"Older engines used to have a large, felt washer installed there."

Installing new timing chain on a 318, questioning the oil slinger

Not sure what he means by "there".

I should have paid more attention when I took my balancer / timing cover off, but I thought the felt washer and slinger disk came off at the same time. I don't recall pulling the felt pad out of the balancer back side, but I'm real hazy about that.

Is there some mopar document / diagram / manual page *anywhere* that actually shows / describes this felt pad? The one that I had in there looks more like jute than felt (the new one that came with the felpro timing gasket kit is definately felt). I won't use if it's supposed to go on the backside of the balancer.
We've already told you where it goes. You have several people telling you where it goes. If you weren't going to believe us, then why on Earth did you ask. I tell you what do. Put it where you had it and see how THAT works out. MoparLeo was talking about the METAL oil slinger which goes BEHIND the timing cover. YOU are talking about the felt washer. That goes between the balancer and timing cover RIGHT where several of us have told you.
