No. Current new valve body was in transmission that failed. Replaced used in new rebuild. Had to be disassembled to clean. And re assembled. Now a fresh untouched body is arriving today
I think your plan is solid, you have removed multiple variables from the equation. You can pull the old body out tear it apart and put it back together at your own pace with no pressure (pun intended) and have a backup you know is right.
