I really hate digging out tree roots. This knotted mess is from two maple trees on my neighbors property that have invaded right in the middle of the space where I am laying down a brick paved walkway in the side yard.
These roots are 1”-2” in diameter and several are over 4” deep. It’s like cutting out living 2x4 studs from the ground.
It took two days of work but at least I got it done. All the roots are cut back 3 feet from the edge of the new walkway.
