windshield wiper removal

Just brought home a '

Just brought home a 64 Barracuda with a bad wiper spring. Still has the original wiper arms, looks like blades are crimped on to end of arm, too, so appears not replaceable. A new blade refill was found for the driver's side (with the good spring) to allow driving in the rain, but it's a hair too long and causes the ends to rise up from the windshield. I cut 1/4" off one end and unwittingly removed the rubber blade "stop" so it started sliding its way out in a rain storm. Can't find a replacement arm anywhere, the Anco 41-03 is out of stock everywhere I check so I guess discontinued. I'm seeing crazy prices like $100 ea special order on the auto parts web sites. Not sure what to do but thought I might try a universal spring if I can get the arm off and apart.
Sounds like the OP might be able to help you out if he doesn't lose his temper removing his arms. I suspect he is building a race car and will have no more need for windshield swipers!
