Anyone know anything about Subarus?

I should add that my son didn't randomly pick this thing up without knowing anything about, it's a long story but it used to be his neighbors car, the couple split, car broke down, ex had no money, one ex signed it over to the other, and then to my son, once it's fixed she will get some cash back, he's into it for a few hundred bucks and although he'd like a quick flip if it took 6 months or more because if waiting for the " right " part then so be it. Hence why I thought someone might have an idea but keeping in mind were in Canada so everything is ridiculous expensive to get here.
