We always get the pup a year or two before the old dog passes. That way we don’t have to teach it everything. Just who is alpha. The old guy teaches him what he gets paid for To stay home, who are friends, bark when someone comes on the yard etc. On dog #5 now and that method works for me. Also if you want your dog to listen to you only have one, more than that and they will just play amongst themselves. My opinions.
