65 Barracuda daily driver
After working on the Barracuda pretty much non-stop I needed to do some other things with my free time and I've been enjoying just driving the car for a change. However, when you drive your car a lot, you notice the little things. The speedo had been pretty bouncy lately, so I lubed the cable and added a little spacer between the cable and the cluster housing. It's a replacement cable that you have to cut to length and apparently it's a little too long. The spacer takes the pressure off and prevents binding at the speedometer. I already got another cable, but I want to figure out the correct length before I cut it.
The other day I was watching an episode of Dead Doge Garage and his rear view mirror fell off. He mentioned that he needed to tighten the screw in the back. After owning this car for 15 years, I had no idea that there was a "screw" that holds the mirror to the base. It's actually a hex head, at least in my case, and I was finally able to tighten the mirror that never stayed in position. Now I know that I didn't even had to take the mirror off.
Anyways, the car runs great, there seems to be an issue with the transmission when you manually shift from D/ 3rd in to 2nd and I read somewhere that it's probably a band adjustment, but I'll look into that some other time.
