O.P., You could take a page out of the '68 Super Stock Hemi A-Bodies and put 1'' aluminum spacers under the frame between the
K-member and the frame to lower the engine in the engine compartment, and no one will know unless they look!
Cheap and dirty...

I was going to suggest that, just to clarify it was 1/4” to 1/2” 2x2” spacer for hood clearance
