Hood scoop to big?

I got this huge hemi scoop. How do I determine hole size. Just cut it huge or close to the edge of cleaner? More forward or to rear?

It an old Super Stock scoop. I would say race only or street when the sun is shining. It would suck in a lot of water in the rain.
