Winter will soon return :(

For those of us whom live in the northern / snow states , what is your preferred method of snow removal off driveways and sidewalks at your home ?

wait for it to melt has been considered
Sidewalks and deck are cleared manually with a shovel. Garage apron is cleared via either one of two Toro 2-stage snowblowers, depending on depth and weight (water content) of the snow. We either use the light "flapper":

Or the more "serious" Commercial (no shear pins) unit (typical pics, both):

We clean/scrape it (the apron only) down to the concrete with a shovel, applying sand as necessary. Usually the sun melts what's left in a day or so.

For the driveway I usually use the unit above, but I recently picked-up a 2-stage attachment for the J.D. on CL (along with chains and weights):

And if I can get around to servicing it before the snow flies, I'm hoping to be able to clear our 300' drive much easier this year.

No salt here. Don't want it getting on our dogs feet, our lawn, or in our septic.

(Oh! And pushing your snow onto your neighbor's property, or onto public lands, is not quite illegal, but quite frowned-upon, and punishable via a fine, around here.)
