Anyone who has installed a silver sports automatic trans in a A-body?

Ah, makes sense.

For what it's worth, I am a pretty hard core manual trans guy, but there are times I wonder if I shouldn't have gone auto.

If you bought your trans from Keisler, it is probably a TKO. The TKX wasn't released until a couple of years ago. Doesn't mean much, just so you know.

So when bought it from Keisler, did they modify the trans to make it fit so you didn't have to cut the crossmember? Because the A41 will probably require the front of the crossmember to be removed so it might still require some reworking.

Sweet build, BTW.
Thanks for straightening me out on the TKO… TKX, yes your correct mine is the TKO 600 version with .68 od. It was modified from Kreisler, but I still had to enlarge the hump and trim the crossmember back an inch and a 1/4 to get it in. That being done I still had to trim the crossmember at the inner mount holes and pinch weld at the bottom of the firewall to squeeze in the 4L60E. It was just minor grinding and tack welding…. So it wasn’t horribly difficult.
I have called Silver Sports twice asking about the issue and nothing was said either time about them working on a solution.

Thanks for the compliment on the car. I purchased the car new in 1973….
