Was just on the phone with Gainesville. No bracket racing in September. Brackets at Night of Fire in October (1 day). None in November or December. "We race starting in January thru September" (even though they missed Sept this year. Oh, and April too for a still unknown reason). "And we don't race in July/Aug due to temps." "And yes, we only bracket race 1 weekend a month as we don't want to compete with other tracks in Florida" (even though they may be a hundred miles or more away).
So all this glorious Florida weather, a decent (not great) NHRA facility, and maybe 6-7 bracket races/year. I don't get it! This is how the mighty NHRA promotes our sport at their own track? No wonder the sport is dying with this kind of leadership.
We need to transplant Milan Dragway to Florida!! I probably would go broke buying new slicks we'd be racing so much!
