I just went back over the few times he says 118 cfm max sounds like it's just based off valve size to me, where wedge, canted, hemi dictates max valve size for a bore and max capable rpm. Might be harder for wedge since you ideally want the valve .200"-.250" off the wall to lessen/eliminate valve shrouding. Doubt most heads with a 2.055" valve in a 4.03" are that far from the wall?


That’s one of the reasons I use a 4.015 bore adapter for testing even with 2.08 valves. In my head I feel with shortturn shaping you can dictate the direction that most of the airflow is going. Probing the runner for airspeed can back this theory up. Think 3D and check each runner from every angle.
