Had an ADHD moment tonight and got distracted by the rear of the car while fitting slicks. That quickly escalated into checking out how the old quarter panels were done... and the answer? Hacked! So now it's getting two fresh panels. I reached out to my buddy in PA, who'll handle stretching the wheel well openings before I fit them onto the car.
On a side note, I jumped back on track and made the transmission tunnel opening, which will be welded in this weekend to replace the old cutout. I also tackled the upper hinge weight issue. I bit the bullet today and dusted off my TIG welding skills (I’m rusty), but it started to come back towards the end. I got the cowl filled, ground down, and mapped out the pattern for the remaining hinge holes, wrapping things up with the trans tunnel opening some more.
