A tire basically has a gear ratio, = 24 divide by tire size.

29" = .83 and 26" = .92

29" (.83) with 3.23 = 2.68 final ratio
26" (.92) with 2.94 = 2.70 " " basically the same.

29" with 2.94 = 2.44 fairly big drop
