Whisky tasting group tonight. Interesting Scotch bottles. They are apparently an up and coming distillery from The Island of Raasay, Scotland. I see unpeated and combines peated and unpeated spirit matured separately in American rye, chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine casks. It should be fun. And, of course, a dozen or so sample bottles will be hauled in by members for sharing.
All 3 of these were good. One was finished in a wine cask, one in a rye cask and one in a Missouri oak barrel. Non peated and nice sippers. Not to complex and fairly young. I think they were $80 bottles so chasing them was a "no" for me.
