Hemi Pcv

I think one thing that I finally realized that throws me off when reading about PCV systems so much is that they aren't really vacuum devices, they are flow devices. It doesn't matter how big or small of an orifice is present, your engine will pull the same vacuum on the other side of it if the system is closed. The valve just controls how much air passes through it by using vacuum to regulate the orifice. So many guides talk about testing the valve by measuring vacuum, but that doesn't work unless the valve closes entirely. Maybe some valves do, but the general consensus I've seen is that they never close entirely aside from maybe backfire situations.
