I'll tell you what tensions were high and I am surprised no one was shot. That is a redneck area for sure and for the FBI to come in like they did. They are lucky and I think that is why they did it in just a few short days and then were out
Not much in the way of Confederate incursions that far North. Could be believable that during the Gettysburg Campaign, troops getting called back to Gettysburg stashed some items, but I don't know that the U.S. would have been moving anything out that far away. Not a lot of roads. Things moved East West on the Forbes or Braddock Roads....
