Another early a-body bellhousing quest

Hello !
I hope it's OK to ask a quetion here? Maybe it is covered somewhere before but I cant find it
A while ago I found this nice 1964 valiant with a /6 and a manual 3-on-column setup
The /6 is stuck and I would like to install a 318 in the car but keep the cool 3-on-column setup
I found out I need the small 273 type bellhousing #2463413 and a 122t fywheel. like the factory did
But is it also possible to use a newer/larger aluminium smallblock bellhousing and 130t flywheel?
there are some small block bellhousings that have dual bolt pattern for 3 speed and 4 speed tranmissions
I know I have to shorten the Z-bar for the clutch but the thing I can't find anywhere on internet is if these other bellhousing types leave enough space for the the column shifter linkages?
I am in Europe so parts and resources to try and fit are very limited
Thanks for you time and expertise!
Best regards
