340 Exhaust Manifolds on Edelbrock Heads

This is kind of an exhaust topic..... and kind of an engine topic. So, gonna post it here in "general".

About ten years ago I put Edelbrock heads on a 340. The exhaust manifolds are '68-'70 castings. On the driver side where the manifold curves around the steering column; it curves back close to the block and actually came into contact with the lower portion of the head where it meets the block. (wish I had photos of this, but I do not) I had to grind away some material from the head which wasn't a big deal.

I am now building a 360 for a different vehicle, but I'm using the same combination of Edelbrock heads and '68-'70 style 340 exhaust manifolds. Question is, with the newer Edelbrock head castings.... do you know if Edelbrock has corrected this situation?

Yes, I could contact Edelbrock tech services with this question, but I'd rather hear real world responses from my community members here. Thank you.
