Used "reproduction" 1970 B-body Pistol Grip handle
I say "reproduction" in quotes because this is a bolt-in stick, which didn't exist in B-bodies until 1972. It's the same size and shape as an original, but won't work in the original bayonet shifter. Some reproduction!
This handle spent nine years in a mostly-parked truck. There are some areas where the chrome is crazed and a couple where it's lifted, because these were flash-chromed just like the originals (a new repro
will look like this in a couple of years, no matter how well you treat it). It's not perfect by any means. The defects in the chrome are very hard to photograph, but appear as reflections or white spots. The missing chrome would be under the boot and is obvious in the photos.
Full disclosure: It looks better in pictures than it is in person. If you want perfection, it'll need to be rechromed. I'll try to get photos in natural daylight that better show the condition. I don't want anyone to feel deceived or cheated. I will gladly e-mail high-resolution photos to anyone seriously interested.
Since it's a reproduction, there's virtually zero guilt in cutting it to use in some other application. As-is, in an A-body, you'll need green Mickey Mouse ears, fangs, and to drive around with your tongue hanging out--it's Rat Fink length.
I bought this new in 2014 for my '92 Dakota, along with a Hurst AX-15 shifter mechanism (a
huge improvement over stock), so the lens has the Dakota's 5-speed pattern. It was rarely driven before the PCM failed. There is virtually no wear on the grips. I suspect it would work just as well in a full-size truck. I still have the 4-speed pattern I took out of it when new; both lenses are in excellent shape. You'll get both, along with the original box.
