No Headlights 2.0

A leaky wiper pivot seal loves to get the dimmer area wet, creating corrosion in those dimmer units.

Learned this one on Hwy 1 heading home from Vancouver in a torrential downpour as my headlights kept cutting in and out. Of course I got pulled over and was told if I couldn't fix it, towing was the only option. I knew the dimmer got wet, along with my left foot, so guessed it might be the problem. I ripped the wires apart, made the connection to get my lights on and told the wet RCMP officer that all was fine. He followed me for a couple of miles, the lights stayed on, and I made it home

Never did fix it, but at least I taped it with packing tape.
